Brinkwood Ltd Privacy Policy
Brinkwood Ltd handles personal information, in the UK in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. In the USA personal data is handled in accordance with the US Safe Harbor Privacy Principles which can be found at http://export.gov/safeharbor/ issued by the US Department of Commerce on 21 July 2000 and US Human Resources data is handled in accordance with the privacy legislation of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Data may be collected on behalf of Brinkwood Ltd by their internet service providers who state that any disclosure of personal information will be strictly controlled and made fully in accordance with current legislation, in particular the UK Data Protection Act 1998 and the US Safe Harbor Privacy Principles.
Brinkwood Ltd companies may both make use of personal information collected by the other company. This shall not apply to sensitive personal information (as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998) or other human resources data that will only be passed between the companies with the explicit permission of the data subject.
At Brinkwood Ltd we respect an individual's right to privacy and we understand that, as an employee, contractor, visitor, business contact or otherwise, individuals prefer to control their own personal information. We may ask individuals, on occasion, to provide personal information. Individuals may also give personal information to Brinkwood Ltd in the form of business cards or otherwise.
Brinkwood Ltd companies will not pass on the information supplied by individuals to any other party other than in the natural course of the business relationship without the consent of that individual. Brinkwood Ltd will use the personal information provided in a way that is appropriate to the purpose for which it was provided. Thus, the companies may use personal information shared with them to provide any information about the companies requested by individuals.
In those circumstances the companies will add the details of that personal information to contacts and marketing databases. If an individual provides their name, mailing address, email address or telephone number, the companies may use that information to alert the individual to any issues in their area of interest, or invite them to attend any relevant events and seminars hosted by the companies.
Each individual is entitled to request a copy of the personal information the companies hold on that individual. The companies may charge a fee for complying with this request. Any such requests should be addressed to info@brinkwood.com.
